Dr. Paul Charpentier is a Professor in the Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering and Mechanical & Materials Engineering at Western University. He is affiliated with the International Composites Research Centre (ICRC) and the Institute for Chemicals and Fuels from Alternative Resources (ICFAR), as well as the Biomedical Engineering Graduate Program.

Research Interests focus on green nanotechnologies using supercritical CO₂ and ionic liquids for environmentally-friendly materials synthesis. His work spans solar devices, catalytic applications, biomedical composites, and self-cleaning coatings, often involving industrial collaborations.
Recent Publications highlight advancements in nanofiber synthesis, metal oxide composites, and green solvents, with applications in energy, environmental remediation, and biomedical engineering. His group emphasizes scalable methods and mild reaction conditions for sustainable manufacturing.
Students and Collaborations: Mentors graduate researchers in projects involving nanostructured materials, polymer composites, and catalytic processes. His lab (CMLP 3303) operates within multidisciplinary clusters like ICFAR, focusing on alternative fuels and advanced materials.
