Paul Brown is a Professor at the University of Utah’s David Eccles School of Business, where he serves as the Director of the award-winning Master of Business Creation (MBC) program. His teaching expertise spans entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial finance, innovation, venture capital, legal issues for entrepreneurs, and startup governance. He has led student consulting engagements globally with organizations such as The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, CleanSlate Centers, and Access Afya, and has mentored or judged competitions including Village Capital and the AGRF GoGettaz Agriprenuer Startup Pitch Competition.

Paul currently co-founded Upstream Ventures, a seed-stage technology venture capital fund, and serves as an advisory partner for Granite Growth Health Partners, a healthcare services VC fund. He holds board positions at companies like Accelerate Dental, CleanSlate Centers, and SwellCX, and contributes to academic leadership through the MBC program’s strategic direction. His prior roles include managing director at Sandbox Industries, vice president at Blue Cross Blue Shield, and legal practice at Kirkland & Ellis LLP.
