Paul Brandt

Paul Brandt is Professor of Chemistry and Chairperson of the Department of Chemistry and Physics/Biochemistry at North Central College, where he also serves as Chemical Hygiene Officer. He actively engages in regional chemistry outreach and professional leadership.

His academic credentials include:

Brandt's research centers on Green Chemistry methodologies, particularly the solvent-free BASIL technique and ionic liquid applications in phosphine synthesis. His work bridges Inorganic and Organometallic Chemistry with practical waste reduction strategies while maintaining strong commitment to Chemistry Education through teacher development and classroom innovation.
