Paul Bernhard Eipper

Paul Bernhard Eipper is an Assistant Professor and Head of the Studio in the Department of Conservation and Restoration at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design Bratislava. He holds a Diploma in Conservation from the University of Applied Sciences, Cologne (1992). His work focuses on art conservation techniques, material analysis, and the historical context of artworks. Eipper has led conservation projects, including investigations into the Straub family workshops and the authentication of artworks like those by Picasso and Norbertine Bresslern-Roth.

His research spans topics such as pigment degradation, 19th-century wax fruit models, and the ethical challenges in restoration. Notable contributions include studies on August Deusser's painting techniques and the degradation of chrome yellow pigments. Eipper collaborates with institutions like the Universalmuseum Joanneum and the August Deusser Museum, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches to conservation.
