Paul Bendich is a Research Professor in the Mathematics Department at Duke University and serves as Associate Director for Undergraduate Research and Curricular Engagement at the Information Initiative at Duke (iiD). He also holds the position of Chief Scientist for Geometric Data Analytics (GDA), a local research and development company.
His research develops algebraic, topological, and geometric methodologies for analyzing complex high-dimensional datasets, emphasizing critical intersections between topology, geometry, machine learning, and statistical theory. This work enables novel approaches to extracting meaningful patterns across diverse scientific domains through advanced mathematical frameworks.
At iiD, Professor Bendich directs the award-winning Data+ and Data Expeditions programs, which cultivate data-driven interdisciplinary research experiences for undergraduates and integrate real-world data projects into graduate/undergraduate curricula across multiple disciplines beyond Duke's campus.
