معرفی
Dr. Paul Barrow is a Senior Lecturer in Physiology and Pharmacology at the University of Wolverhampton, affiliated with the Faculty of Science and Engineering and the Biomedical Science Department. With a career spanning over two decades, he has held academic positions at the University of Birmingham (Research Fellow, Lecturer, Senior Research Fellow) before joining Wolverhampton in 2001. His research focuses on autonomic nervous system regulation and neurodegenerative disease mechanisms.
- PhD in Physiology/Pharmacology (University of Southampton, 1995)
- BSc(Hons) in Physiology with Pharmacology (University of Southampton, 1992)
Research Interests: Dr. Barrow's work examines cardiac autonomic control through human physiology studies, while earlier research explored neurodegenerative disease models using transgenic mice and scrapie-infected hamsters. His publications span neuroscience, physiology, and medical education innovations.
Publications: His 2018 Experimental Physiology study revealed gastric reflex effects on heart rate regulation, while foundational work (1993-2000) established expertise in hippocampal plasticity and neurodegenerative disease pathophysiology. Recent contributions (2005) focus on educational methodologies.
Professional Activities: Peer reviewer for Experimental Physiology (2018-2020) and supervisor for graduate research projects (2010-2015). His teaching emphasizes human physiology to undergraduate students across diverse programs.
