Paul Aronson is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Emergency Medicine at Yale School of Medicine, affiliated with the Yale Pediatric Emergency Medicine division. He holds leadership roles as Deputy Director of the Pediatric Residency Program and Director of the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Elective. His clinical expertise spans pediatric emergency care, including managing infections, trauma, and chronic conditions in children. Dr. Aronson earned his MD from New York University and completed residency and fellowship at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, later obtaining an MHS from Yale School of Medicine in 2019.
His research focuses on optimizing care for febrile infants (under 90 days old), improving shared decision-making with parents, and addressing disparities in emergency care. Key projects include using natural language processing for predictive analytics and evaluating guideline adherence in national quality improvement initiatives. He collaborates with networks like the Pediatric Emergency Care Applied Research Network (PECARN).
Dr. Aronson’s awards include the Mae Gailani, MD Junior Faculty Award (2018) and multiple teaching honors. His work emphasizes reducing unnecessary testing, enhancing communication, and advancing equity in pediatric emergency care. He is also engaged in residency education, leading the Research Track to foster scholarly activity among trainees.
