Paty Celis is a Lecturer at Anglia Ruskin University, affiliated with the Faculty of Science and Engineering and the School of Life Sciences in Cambridge. Her research focuses on evolutionary biology, behavioral ecology, and molecular ecology, particularly studying breeding behaviors and environmental adaptations in animals. She employs molecular tools to explore questions in population genetics and physiological responses to environmental changes.
Paty holds a PhD in Biology from the University of St Andrews and a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (PGCE:TLHE) from Keele University. She is a member of the Association for the Study of Animal Behaviour (ASAB) and actively contributes to the Applied Ecology Research Group and the Behavioural Ecology Research Group at her institution.
Her research emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches, combining field observations with laboratory techniques. Recent work includes studies on avian ecology, hormonal influences on behavior, and the development of molecular markers for ecological studies. She has published extensively on topics such as nestling survival under temperature stress, sibling competition dynamics, and the role of testosterone in avian physiology.
Paty’s publications reflect her commitment to understanding ecological and evolutionary processes, with a focus on avian species such as the spotless starling. She collaborates with international researchers and has contributed to peer-reviewed journals in ornithology, ecology, and molecular biology.
