Patrizia Spinato is a Researcher at the Italian National Research Council (CNR) since 1996, currently heading the Milan branch of the Institute of Mediterranean Studies. She specializes in Hispanic-American literature, cultural relations between Italy, Spain, and Latin America, and literary criticism. Her academic journey includes a Master's from the Catholic University of Milan (1992) and a PhD from the University of Bologna (1997). She has held roles as a Contract Professor of Hispanic-American Literature at the University of Milan (2009–2012) and participates in international doctoral committees at Spanish universities. Her research focuses on Nobel laureates, colonial chronicles, migrant prose, and women's literature. Spinato has coordinated interdisciplinary projects, including the "Letteratura e arte: risorse contro l’isolamento" initiative during the pandemic. She edits journals like Studi di Letteratura Ispano-Americana and collaborates with institutions such as the Biblioteca Virtual Miguel de Cervantes. Her work bridges cultural studies, literary analysis, and historical contextualization.
