معرفی
Patrick Young is a Professor in the School of Earth and Space Exploration at Arizona State University (ASU). He serves as Associate Director for Community Outreach and is a science lead on NASA's TREC ICAR project headquartered at ASU. His research focuses on theoretical astrophysics and astrobiology, using 3D simulations to study stellar evolution, supernova dynamics, and chemical element distribution. He also investigates how planetary composition influences habitability and co-evolution with host stars to inform exoplanet exploration strategies.
Education:
- Ph.D. in Astronomy, University of Arizona (2004)
- B.S. in Astronomy and Physics, University of Texas at Austin (1998)
Research Interests: Combines computer modeling of supernova remnants with observational data to understand element dispersal into interstellar medium. Explores astrobiological implications of stellar-planet co-evolution to identify potential exoplanet targets for life-seeking missions. Engages in NASA mission-related science leadership and public outreach initiatives.
