Univ.-Prof. Dr. Patrick Müller is a Professor of European Studies at the Institute of Political Science and the Centre for European Integration Research (EIF) within the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Vienna. His position combines academic leadership with research in European Studies, focusing on political and integration dynamics. He is accessible via email at patrick.mueller@univie.ac.at and by appointment for consultations.
His research interests span two domains: European Studies/Political Science and advanced materials science. In European Studies, he examines regional integration, governance, and policy frameworks. In materials science, his work explores crystal synthesis under extreme conditions, thermoelectric materials, and solid-state chemistry, particularly in lithium-based compounds and metastable alloys.
Recent publications (2017–2025) highlight innovations in high-pressure synthesis of novel materials, crystallographic analysis, and thermoelectric performance optimization. His studies on argyrodite-type structures, copper ion conductors, and Ge-Sb-Te alloys contribute to energy material advancements. Müller collaborates with the EIF and interdisciplinary teams to bridge political science with material science applications.
No scientific awards or grants are explicitly listed, though his prolific publication record indicates sustained research activity. He advises within the Institute of Political Science and contributes to the University of Vienna's administrative units, including the Service Unit and Public Relations Office.
