Patrick Loughlin

Patrick Loughlin is a Professor of Bioengineering and Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs at the University of Pittsburgh's Swanson School of Engineering. His research focuses on sensory integration in motor control, haptics, brain-computer interfaces, and signal processing. He has received prestigious awards including the Chancellor’s Distinguished Research Award (1999), NSF CAREER Award (1996), and ONR Young Investigator Award (1998). Dr. Loughlin holds IEEE, AIMBE, and ASA Fellowships.

His work bridges biomedical engineering, neuroscience, and signal processing, with applications in postural control, vibrotactile feedback systems, and quantum probability.
