Patrick Lee Miller is Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy at Duquesne University's McAnulty College of Liberal Arts. His scholarship bridges ancient philosophy and contemporary issues, particularly using Platonic frameworks to address modern concerns including gender, education, and spirituality.
Research interests encompass ancient Greek and Roman philosophy, Platonism's modern applications, Nietzschean philosophy, Freudian psychoanalysis, and philosophical perspectives on gender and sexuality. His work connects classical thought with contemporary challenges in child psychology, education, and truth-telling practices.
He teaches courses spanning ancient philosophy, Nietzsche, existentialism, and specialized topics connecting philosophy with film and literature. Miller authored 'Becoming God: Pure Reason in Early Greek Philosophy' and co-edited 'Introductory Readings in Ancient Greek and Roman Philosophy'.
