Patrick Lacroix serves as the Director of the Acadian Archives at the University of Maine at Fort Kent. A native of Cowansville, Quebec, he holds a Ph.D. from the University of New Hampshire. Previously, he taught at Phillips Exeter Academy and Canadian liberal arts colleges, and worked as a test centre manager for Pearson in Halifax.
His research focuses on French-heritage communities, with publications in journals such as the Catholic Historical Review, Vermont History, and the American Review of Canadian Studies. He has authored two notable books: John F. Kennedy and the Politics of Faith (University Press of Kansas) and “Tout nous serait possible”: Une histoire politique des Franco-Américains, 1874-1945 (Presses de l’Université Laval).
His work bridges historical analysis and cultural studies, emphasizing Franco-American and Acadian identities. The Acadian Archives under his leadership likely preserve and promote regional heritage materials.
