معرفی
Patrick Kelley is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Zoology & Physiology at the University of Wyoming. His research focuses on how environmental factors shape animal behavior and influence ecological outcomes, particularly in tropical ecosystems. He leads the Behavioral Complexity Lab, which integrates field studies, quantitative analysis (including AI and bioacoustics), and physiological measurements to explore behavior-environment interactions.
Education: B.A. Biology (Harvard University, 2001), Ph.D. Animal Behavior (University of California, Davis, 2012). Postdoctoral research at UC Berkeley (2011-2013), Florida State University (2013), University of British Columbia (2013-2014), and University of New Hampshire (2014-2016).
Research emphasizes tropical birds in Panama and Hawaii, jumping spiders, and invasive species impacts. Key themes include climate adaptation, stress physiology, and novel seed dispersal networks. Methodologies combine fieldwork with advanced tools like deep learning and ecological modeling.
Teaching includes Behavioral Ecology (ZOO-4415/5415), General Biology (LIFE-1010), and Data Science in R (HP-4151). Current lab focuses on causal AI applications to measure complex behaviors influencing ecological processes like competition and predation.
