Patrick J. Hart is the Chair and Professor of Biology at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo (UH Hilo), leading the Biology Department within the College of Natural and Health Sciences (CNHS). He specializes in the ecology and conservation of Hawaiian forests and forest birds. His research integrates behavioral ecology, bioacoustics, and dendrochronology to address conservation challenges.
Education:
- B.S. in Aquatic Biology, University of California, Santa Barbara (1985)
- Ph.D. in Zoology, University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa (2000)

- Use of bioacoustics for bird conservation and behavior analysis
