Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State Universityمعرفی
Patrick Huber is a Professor of Physics at Virginia Tech, serving as Director of the Center for Neutrino Physics and William E. Hassinger, Jr. Senior Faculty Fellow. He holds a Ph.D. from Technische Universität München. His research focuses on theoretical particle physics, particularly neutrino oscillations and their applications in nuclear security, nonproliferation, and astrophysics. He leads the Daya Bay Reactor Neutrino Experiment and contributed to the GLoBES simulation software for neutrino oscillation studies. Huber's work includes reactor antineutrino monitoring for safeguarding nuclear facilities and exploring neutrino interactions in extreme environments like supernovae. He collaborates with institutions globally, including the Center for Neutrino Physics (CNP), and has advised graduate students like Rebekah Pestes and undergraduates like Philip Bodor. Key research themes include sterile neutrinos, coherent neutrino-nucleus scattering (CEvNS), and neutrino-based nuclear verification. His grants include funding from the U.S. DOE National Nuclear Security Administration for nonproliferation projects.
