Dr. Patrick Esser is a Research Professor and Director of the Centre for Movement, Occupation and Rehabilitation Sciences (MORES) at Oxford Brookes University, leading its Movement Science theme. He holds a PhD in Clinical Biomechanics and specializes in developing technology-based solutions for medical applications, particularly in neurological and musculoskeletal conditions. His work spans clinical assessment tools, wearable sensors, and rehabilitation technologies.
Education: Trained in Mechanical Engineering and Medical Technology in the Netherlands, followed by a PhD in Clinical Biomechanics. He has extensive experience in multidisciplinary research and industry collaboration, including roles in InnovationUK-funded startups and steering committees like the Oxford Institute of Applied Health Research (OxInAHR) and Alzheimer's Research UK Thames Valley Network.
