معرفی
Patrick Derksen is a Full Professor at the Department of Pathology, UMC Utrecht. His research focuses on the molecular mechanisms of invasive lobular carcinoma (ILC) in breast cancer, particularly the role of cell-cell adhesion inactivation and mechanotransduction loops in tumor progression. He leads the UMCU Mouse Cancer Clinic and integrates basic science with preclinical models to improve clinical diagnostics and therapies.
- Education: PhD in Pathology from Academic Medical Center, Amsterdam (2003)
- Key Positions: NWO-VENI/VIDI awardee, Head of UMCU Mouse Cancer Clinic, Associate Professor (2010-tenured)
His group utilizes genetically engineered mouse models (E-cadherin/p53 knockout) to study ILC pathogenesis and develops functional prognostic tools through patient-derived organoids. Recent work explores YAP signaling in collective invasion and transcriptional invasion signatures for head and neck cancer.
