Patricia Tang is Associate Professor of Music at MIT, specializing in ethnomusicology with regional expertise in West African musical traditions. Her research examines cultural dimensions of music circulation and performance practices.
Current projects investigate global dissemination of African popular musics and performance practices in diasporic communities. She serves as faculty advisor for Rambax, MIT's Senegalese drum ensemble.
