S. Patricia Stock is a Professor and Department Head in the Department of Horticulture at Oregon State University, affiliated with the College of Agricultural & Life Sciences. She holds a Ph.D. in Natural Sciences and B.S. in Biology from Universidad Nacional de La Plata, Argentina, with postdoctoral training at the University of California, Davis. Her leadership roles include Dean of the College of Agriculture at California State University, Chico (2021–2023), Director of the School of Animal and Comparative Biomedical Sciences at the University of Arizona (2018–2021), and President/Vice President of professional societies like the Society for Invertebrate Pathology and International Symbiosis Society.
Dr. Stock’s research focuses on Nematology, Entomology, and Microbiology, emphasizing entomopathogenic nematodes and their microbial symbionts. Her work explores bio-prospecting secondary metabolites for pest management and symbiotic mutualisms. She has published over 127 peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and books, and teaches courses on nematology and agricultural issues globally.
Her articles (2020–2025) highlight advancements in understanding symbiotic relationships, bacterial virulence factors, and applications of entomopathogenic systems in sustainable agriculture. She has advised on CDFA Board roles and contributed to international research networks like NEMASYM.
