Patricia Lara

Patricia Lara, Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Texas at El Paso, is affiliated with the College of Health Sciences and the Department of Speech Language and Hearing Sciences. Her research focuses on transgender health, particularly voice modification and gender-affirming treatment approaches, while also addressing cultural competence in training future speech-language pathologists.

She actively explores interprofessional education (IPE) related to vulnerable populations, auditory comprehension recovery in acquired language disorders, and cognitive communication challenges in aging populations. Her work incorporates advanced methodologies like Event-Related Potentials (ERP).
