Pat Lara

Dr. Pat Lara is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Speech Language and Hearing Sciences at the University of Texas at El Paso. Her research addresses transgender health issues affecting quality of life, including voice modification/gender-affirming treatments, cultural competency training for speech-language pathologists, and interprofessional education for vulnerable populations. She also investigates acquired language disorders (aphasia), auditory comprehension, cognitive communication disorders, and aging-related communication challenges.
