Patricia L. Cullen serves as Professor and Assistant Dean of Graduate Studies in the School of Nursing at Regis University within the Rueckert-Hartman College for Health Professions. She leads doctoral and master's nurse practitioner programs and previously chaired the Institutional Review Board, while also holding significant external roles including Vice-President of the Colorado State Board of Nursing and membership on the Governor-appointed Nurse-Physician Advisory Task Force for Colorado Health Care (NPATCH) from 2009-2015.
Her research centers on pediatric oncology with specialization in central nervous system tumors, examining treatment advances and late effects of radiation therapy on functional status, behavior, executive function, and quality of life in childhood cancer survivors. She pioneered Regis University's first master's family nurse practitioner program for rural Colorado using synchronous ZOOM™ technology and currently directs HRSA Grant UD7HP37637 focused on expanding behavioral healthcare integration in rural communities.
Her major scientific awards include:

- Lederle Oncology Nurse Practitioner Practice Award
- American Association of Nurse Practitioners 2017 State Award for Excellence
- Sustained Scholarship Award from Regis University
As a long-standing Children's Oncology Group investigator since 1981, she served as Nursing Discipline Vice-Chair and nurse investigator on pediatric cancer trials. Her current HRSA grant project represents an extension of her commitment to addressing healthcare disparities through innovative educational and clinical service models, particularly for underserved rural populations.
