Patricia Jones-Purdy

Patricia Jones-Purdy serves as Lecturer and Interim Concentration Coordinator for the DNP in Psychiatric Mental Health at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Nursing, joining the faculty in October 2017 with transition to DNP program effective August 1, 2024.

Her educational background includes:

• Diploma of Nursing from St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing
• BSN from Union University
• MSN from Walden University
• DNP in Psychiatric Mental Health from UT Health Science Center College of Nursing (May 2023)

Dr. Jones-Purdy's clinical and research focus centers on psychiatric mental health nursing within behavioral health systems, integrating neuroscience nursing expertise through certification and clinical practice at Insight Behavioral Health. Her teaching spans Mental Health, Population Health, and leadership curriculum across BSN and DNP programs.

As an educator, she has instructed Introduction to Professional Practice, Adult Health, and Leadership courses while serving as clinical faculty. Her prior roles at Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare encompassed Medical-Surgical/Neurology nursing, Patient Care Coordination, and Clinical Directorship, complemented by adjunct faculty positions at Union University and UT Health Science Center.
