Patricia John Sánchez is a Researcher at the University of Bielefeld, affiliated with the Faculty of Sociology and Department 2 - Methods of Empirical Social Research. She serves as a Research Associate in the DFG project "The Intergenerational Transmission of Violence. A Combined Prospective Criminological and Neurobiological Study" under Dr. Christina Beckord's Reinecke Group. Additionally, she is a doctoral researcher at the Bielefeld Graduate School in History and Sociology.
Her research focuses on interdisciplinary approaches to understanding how violent behaviors and experiences are transmitted across generations. This innovative work bridges criminological theory with neurobiological insights to develop comprehensive models of violence transmission:
- Criminology and crime prevention
- Intergenerational transmission mechanisms
- Quantitative social research methodologies
- Neurobiological correlates of social behavior
- Longitudinal study design
- Violence prevention interventions
Ms. Sánchez's work contributes to the University of Bielefeld's strategic research area "The Changing World," which examines complex social dynamics and institutions under conditions of uncertainty. Her research has significant implications for developing evidence-based interventions to break cycles of violence in families and communities.
