Patricia Irizar is a Researcher affiliated with the Department of Sociology at the University of Manchester. She holds a PhD in Psychology from the University of Liverpool (2022) and joined the Centre on the Dynamics of Ethnicity (CoDE) in 2021 to investigate ethnic disparities in health outcomes during the COVID-19 pandemic. Currently, her Simon Fellowship supports research on mental health impacts of the pandemic among ethnic minority populations. She employs mixed-methods approaches to study alcohol use, mental health, and occupational health risks, particularly in trauma-exposed populations.
