Analysis of her 15 most recent publications reveals sustained focus on ecumenical theology and interreligious dialogue, with increasing emphasis on post-Christendom frameworks and policy applications in religious education. Her work consistently applies folklore methodologies to biblical texts while addressing contemporary challenges in Jewish-Christian relations.
Her scholarly recognition includes:
- Nomination as Book of the Year by the Folklore Society of Great Britain (1988) for The Old Testament and Folklore Studies
Professor Kirkpatrick has supervised 23 graduate theses across Old Testament studies, interfaith dialogue, and gender theology, reflecting her interdisciplinary approach. Her administrative leadership encompasses Chair of Women’s Studies Program, Associate Dean of Graduate Studies, and co-founding the Ancient Historiography Seminar of the Canadian Society of Biblical Studies.
As a founding member of the Ancient Historiography Seminar, she cultivates collaborative research environments examining historical methods in biblical scholarship, while her ongoing involvement with Montreal Diocesan Theological College maintains vital church-academy connections.
