Patricia Costa is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Human Resources and Organizational Behavior at ISCTE-University Institute of Lisbon's School of Management. She serves as an Integrated Researcher at BRU-Iscte - Business Research Unit and coordinates the Organizational Behavior and Human Resources Group. Her academic credentials include a PhD in Psychology (2010-2014), Master's in Organizational Behavior (2007-2009), and Bachelor's in Psychology (2001-2008) from Portuguese institutions.
Her primary research focuses on team effectiveness, virtual teams dynamics, technology implications at work, and workplace well-being. Costa has led significant research projects including SYNCLUSIVE (2023-2027) on inclusive labor markets, MINDLIVEN (2020-2023) on mindfulness in virtual environments, and WELLy (2019-2022) on work well-being management. Her research methodology combines European and North American survey data, with notable work conducted during the 2020 lockdown period examining how virtual teams maintain performance and cohesion.
