Patricia A. Scott

Dr. Patricia A. Scott is an Assistant Professor of Nursing at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing, teaching Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) courses. She also serves as a preceptor for NNP students and coordinates the advanced practitioner group for Pediatrix Medical Group in Nashville and the neonatal transport service at Centennial Medical Center. Her research focuses on telemedicine to improve rural nursery care access and APN practice management.

• Education: BSN (1988) and MSN (1993) in Neonatal Critical Care from Vanderbilt University; DNP from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.
• Certifications: Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (1993) and Neonatal Pediatric Transport (2009).

Dr. Scott is a member of the National Association of Neonatal Nurses, Academy of Neonatal Nursing, and Sigma Theta Tau. She is a regional trainer for the AAP's Neonatal Resuscitation Program and a national faculty member/lead instructor for the STABLE Program. Her affiliations include the American Academy of Pediatrics' Section of Transport Medicine.

Her publications address neonatal care protocols and telemedicine applications. She actively contributes to clinical education and transport medicine initiatives.
