Pat Irwin is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Conservatory of Music, part of the School of Visual, Media and Performing Arts at Brooklyn College. His career spans over four decades in media scoring, focusing on television, animation, and independent film.
- Notable TV and film scores: Dexter: New Blood, Nurse Jackie, Bored to Death, Rocko’s Modern Life, SpongeBob SquarePants, But I’m A Cheerleader, and Bam Bam and Celeste.
- Co-founded No-Wave bands The Raybeats and 8 Eyed Spy; long-time member of The B52s (1989–2007).
- Current projects: Recording with ambient group SUSS (Ghost Box, High Line, Promise, SUSS LPs). Collaborations with Philip Glass and John Cage.
Research interests include boundary-pushing compositions for visual media, ambient music, jazz, and interdisciplinary art forms. His work bridges popular music with avant-garde experimentation.

- Three ASCAP Film & Television Awards (2011–2013).
- Grants from the New York City Cultural Council, The New York Foundation for the Arts, Meet The Composer, The Mary Flagler Carey Charitable Trust, and the Thomas J. Watson Foundation.
