Pasi Tyrväinen

Pasi Tyrväinen is the Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology at the University of Jyväskylä since 2018. Previously, he led the Agora Center research institute, focusing on human-centered solutions for complex societal challenges. His professional background includes R&D leadership at Honeywell Industrial Control and AI research at Nokia Research Center.

Research interests span enterprise software ecosystems, cloud computing, IoT, smart cities, cybersecurity, and healthcare technology. He explores how organizations can economically and agilely leverage emerging technologies like cloud platforms and AI in healthcare systems.

His publications emphasize smart city governance, cybersecurity trade-offs, and digital ecosystem dynamics. Recent work addresses AI applications in healthcare renewal and agile transformation in software businesses. He has advised enterprises on ICT strategy and contributed to conferences like ICSOB and Bled eConference.

Pasi has collaborated with organizations across academia and industry, focusing on innovation ecosystems and technology adoption challenges. His research integrates technical, economic, and societal dimensions of digital transformation.
