Pascale Jablonka

Pascale Jablonka is a French/Swiss astrophysicist and Adjunct Professor at EPFL's Laboratory of Astrophysics (LASTRO), affiliated with the School of Basic Sciences at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). She holds a doctorate in astrophysics from the University of Paris 7-Denis Diderot and has held postdoctoral and research positions at the European Southern Observatory (ESO) and CNRS, where she currently serves as Directrice de Recherche.

Research Interests: Her work focuses on galaxy evolution, particularly the formation and dynamics of dwarf galaxies within the Local Group, cosmic web filamentary structures, and the chemical enrichment of the early universe. She employs both observational data from telescopes like VLT and JWST, as well as cosmological simulations, to study the baryon cycle in galaxy groups and the nature of the first stars.

Scientific Contributions: Recent publications highlight her involvement in the Euclid mission's early data analysis, the Pristine Inner Galaxy Survey (PIGS), and studies on environmental quenching in galaxy clusters. Her expertise spans spectroscopic and photometric methods, including advanced image deconvolution techniques for galaxy morphology studies.
