Emanuele Daddi is a leading astrophysicist at CEA Paris Saclay's Department of Astrophysics since 2006. His work focuses on galaxy evolution and formation, particularly through observational cosmology of high-redshift galaxies. He has held prestigious positions including Spitzer Fellow (2004-2006) and ESO Fellow (2001-2004), and currently serves as CEA Senior Expert.
- Habilitation (HDR), Paris Diderot University (2012)
- Ph.D. in Astronomy, University of Florence (2002)
- Master in Physics, University of Florence (1998, cum laude)
His research explores the interstellar medium in star-forming galaxies, gas fractions in high-redshift disks, and galaxy cluster evolution. He pioneered dust as a gas tracer at high redshifts and demonstrated non-universal star formation laws through seminal studies. Current projects include leadership roles in the Euclid Galaxy and AGN Evolution SWG, MOONS GTO consortium, and BlueMUSE consortium.
His selected publications reveal trends in observational cosmology, with a focus on galaxy clusters (e.g., z=2.506), interstellar medium dynamics (e.g., CO excitation studies), and star formation processes across cosmic time. His work has been cited over 40,000 times with an h-index of 109.
- ERC Starting Grant (2009-2014)
- ANR Jeune Chercheur Laureate (2008-2013)
- CNRS Bronze Medal (2012)
- Clarivate Analytics Highly Cited Author (2018, 2019)
- Thomson Reuters Highly Cited Author (2014-2017)
Daddi actively participates in telescope time allocation panels (HST, ALMA, ESO TAC) and has chaired CHFT's Science Advisory Committee. He mentors students/postdocs through collaborative research projects and serves on multiple PhD evaluation committees.
