Pascale Chifflet is a Senior Lecturer at La Trobe University Law School, specializing in international criminal law, evidence law, and police accountability. She received the Vice-Chancellor's Teaching Award in 2023 and holds service roles including Course Coordinator and Associate Dean Learning and Teaching.
Her research evaluates mechanisms to prevent miscarriages of justice in Victoria and police accountability reforms in partnership with community legal organisations. Dr. Chifflet previously worked for ten years at the UN International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia.
Recent publications examine wrongful conviction cases, contempt proceedings in international tribunals, and the Lawyer X scandal's implications for police oversight. She is co-editing a special issue in Current Issues in Criminal Justice on institutional accountability reforms.
Dr. Chifflet teaches Evidence and Criminal Procedure, Criminal Justice Policy, and International Criminal Law. Her pedagogical approach integrates practical insights from her international tribunal experience with contemporary legal scholarship.
