Pascal Riendeau is an Associate Professor of French in the Department of Language Studies at the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM), with a graduate appointment in the French Department at the St. George campus.
He earned his Ph.D. from Université de Montréal and teaches undergraduate courses on Québec literature, theatre, cinema, and culture, alongside graduate courses in contemporary French and Québec literature and literary theory.
Professor Riendeau's research focuses on the discourse of ethics in contemporary literature, examining intersections between ethical frameworks and narrative structures in modern French and Québec literary works.
He co-directs the Groupe de recherche et d’étude sur la littérature française d’aujourd’hui (GRELFA) with Barbara Havercroft (UTSG) and Pascal Michelucci (UTM), advancing collaborative studies of current French literary production.
