Parinita Bhattacharjee is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Community Health Sciences at the Max Rady College of Medicine, University of Manitoba. She is also the Director of Program Delivery at the Institute for Global Public Health and is currently based in Nairobi, Kenya. Her work focuses on scaling HIV prevention interventions for marginalized populations, particularly Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) and Key Populations such as Men Who Have Sex with Men (MSM). She leads projects funded by the Global Fund, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), and USAID.

Research interests include participatory approaches to address HIV prevention gaps, gender equality, and reducing violence against women and girls. She has over 25 years of global health leadership, including directing India’s Avahan HIV prevention program and advising governments in Bhutan and Sri Lanka. She holds a Master of Social Work from Tata Institute of Social Sciences (1995) and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Wilson College (1993).
Current projects include evaluating HIV prevention programs in Kenya and Africa-wide AGYW initiatives. She collaborates with UNAIDS, FHI360, and civil society organizations to design and implement evidence-based interventions.
