Paolo Sospiro

Paolo Sospiro is a Researcher and postdoctoral fellow at CII, coordinating the Sustainability and Digitalization research area. He holds a PhD in Development Economics from the University of Florence and a degree in Political Economy from the Polytechnic University of Marche. He serves as an external researcher at the Department of Industrial Engineering of the University of Florence and directs EUAbout in Brussels. He is also a lecturer in Economics at University Ecampus.

His research focuses on public policy evaluation, climate change, circular economy, and digitalization of Services of General Interest (Energy, Transport, Waste Management, Water Supply). He has expertise in Computable General Equilibrium (CGE-SAM) models and econometrics.

He has held visiting roles at institutions including Beijing Normal University, University of Dortmund, and Lisbon University Institute for Social Studies. He advises Skillman and Alto Valore networks and collaborates with InnovAzione and Ares 2.0. His work integrates economic analysis with innovation systems and regional policy evaluation.

He is affiliated with the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (C2I) and leads research initiatives in sustainability and digital transformation.
