Dr. Paola Ruggiero is a Lecturer in Disordered Systems within the Department of Mathematics at King’s College London, part of the Faculty of Natural, Mathematical & Engineering Sciences. She holds a PhD from SISSA (2019) and a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Geneva (2019–2021) before joining King’s in 2021. Her research focuses on quantum many-body systems, emphasizing entanglement measures in disordered and out-of-equilibrium contexts, hydrodynamic theories, and conformal field theory applications.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree: University of Pisa (Italy, 2014)
- PhD: SISSA (International School for Advanced Studies, 2019)
Research interests include:
- Entanglement Rényi entropies in free fermionic systems
- Quantum generalized hydrodynamics of Tonks-Girardeau gases
- Field theoretical methods in curved spacetime
- Non-equilibrium dynamics and fluctuation theories
- Applications to cold atoms and disordered systems
Her recent work explores hydrodynamic fluctuation theory and quantum information spreading in integrable systems. The QuEHST project (2024–2027), funded by EPSRC, advances emergent hydrodynamics in quantum many-body systems. She collaborates internationally on topics like full counting statistics and Luttinger liquid models.
Labs/Teams: Member of the Disordered Systems research group at King’s, specializing in statistical mechanics of complex systems.
