Paola G Rachello-Dolmen is a Post-doctoral Research Associate at Texas A&M University and the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute, focusing on environmental drivers of biotic turnover in the Caribbean. Her research integrates paleoecological and modern ecological data to understand human and climate impacts on marine ecosystems.
Education:
- BSc (Hons) in Biology, Pontificia Universidad Javeriana
- MSc in Biological Sciences, University of Amsterdam
- PhD in Marine Science, University of Queensland (2005–2022 ARC Centre of Excellence for Coral Reef Studies)
Research Highlights:
Her PhD work analyzed microgastropod diversity in Moreton Bay, linking community shifts to historical environmental changes. Current projects explore Neogene Caribbean biodiversity dynamics under climate and anthropogenic pressures. She has contributed to studies on coral reef resilience and climate impacts on tropical fisheries.
Affiliations:
- Formerly affiliated with James Cook University’s ARC Centre of Excellence for Coral Reef Studies (2005–2022)
