Professor Panicos Kyriacou holds a Professorship in Biomedical Engineering at the School of Science and Technology, City, University of London, and directs the Research Centre for Biomedical Engineering. He earned his B.E.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Western Ontario and his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Medical Electronics and Physics from St. Bartholomew’s Medical College, University of London. A global leader in Pulse Oximetry and Photoplethysmography, his research focuses on developing non-invasive optical sensors for early disease detection and health monitoring. He has authored over 300 publications, holds six patents, and led major healthcare technology projects funded by UK/EU bodies and industry.
His roles include Adjunct Professor at Yale School of Medicine, Honorary Professor at IIT Roorkee, and Honorary Senior Research Fellow at Great Ormond Street Hospital, St Bartholomew’s Hospital, and The Royal London Hospital.
