Pang Sze Dai

Dr. Pang Sze Dai is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Engineering Science Programme at the National University of Singapore (NUS). He holds a B.Eng. (First Class Honours) and M.Eng. from NUS (2001-2002) and a Ph.D. in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics from Northwestern University (2005). His research focuses on protective building technologies, sustainable materials, and bio-mimicry, with over S$3 million in research funding as Principal Investigator and collaborator.

Dr. Pang has mentored award-winning student teams in international competitions and received multiple teaching accolades, including the Faculty of Engineering Innovative Teaching Award and University Annual Teaching Excellence Awards. He has held administrative roles such as Curriculum Coordinator for the Design-Centric Curriculum and acted as Programme Manager for M.Sc. programs.

His publications span advanced materials, structural behavior, and computational modeling, with over 30 peer-reviewed articles. He actively reviews for top journals and serves on conference committees, contributing to industry consultations on structural dynamics and seismic engineering.
