Panagiotis Mitkidis is a Professor of Business Psychology, Ethics, and Behavioral Economics at the Department of Management, Aarhus University. He holds the title of AIAS-PIREAU Fellow at the Aarhus Institute of Advanced Studies and serves as Vice-Head of the Centre for Integrative Business Psychology. His research focuses on prosocial behaviors like trust and cooperation, antisocial behaviors such as dishonesty, and societal issues like economic inequality and health decision-making. Mitkidis leads the Behavioral Economics and Business Ethics Research Group (BEBE) and has supervised PhD students in experimental psychology and behavioral research.
His teaching portfolio includes courses on Behavioral Economics, Moral Psychology, Judgment & Decision-Making, and Experimental Anthropology. Key awards include a €400K post-doctoral grant from Duke and Aarhus Universities (2013) and the Editor's Commendation from the Journal of Business and Psychology (2023).
Recent research explores honesty oaths' impact on tax evasion, morning morality effects, and cross-cultural beliefs about infectious diseases. He collaborates internationally on projects addressing economic inequality perceptions and health decision-making.
