Panagiotis Markopoulos is the Director of the Master of Science in Counseling Program and an Assistant Professor of Counseling at Upper Iowa University's School of Arts & Sciences. He holds a Ph.D. in Counselor Education from the University of New Orleans, along with master’s degrees in Social Theology (National & Capodistrian University of Athens) and Mental Health Counseling (Eastern Kentucky University). His research focuses on applying virtual reality (VR) technology to treat children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

Professional Contributions: Prior to UIU, he served as faculty and Clinical Counseling Lab Director at the University of New Orleans. His work bridges technological innovation with clinical practice, particularly in neurodevelopmental disorders.
