Pamini Thangarajah is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics & Computing at Mount Royal University. She holds leadership roles in curriculum development, including creating minors in mathematics and mathematics for elementary education, and designing successful courses for these programs. Her research spans algebra, representation theory, invariant theory, mathematics education, and data envelopment analysis, recognized by the American Mathematical Society (AMS).
She actively contributes to academic communities as a reviewer for Mathematical Reviews, journals, conferences, and textbooks. Pamini has authored three widely used Creative Commons licensed textbooks and developed numerous open educational resources (OER), adopted in her teaching. Her dedication to education excellence is highlighted by awards such as the Distinguished Faculty Award (2018), Open Education Champion Award (2018), and consecutive Provost’s Teaching and Learning Enhancement Grants (2017–2019).
Pamini co-organizes key events like the Alberta Mathematics Dialogue (2004, 2011, 2016, 2020) and Explore STEM, a conference encouraging grade nine girls to pursue STEM careers. She emphasizes undergraduate research and public engagement in mathematics.
