Pamela Mahan

Pamela Mahan is a Senior Lecturer in the Writing Program at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), College of University College. She has been teaching academic writing courses since 2015 and previously taught at a community college in San Diego.

• MA in English, University of Hawaii at Manoa (2011)

Her research focuses on Composition and Rhetoric, particularly how individuals reshape their identity during grief through online support communities and social media. She also emphasizes multidisciplinary and multicultural approaches in academic writing instruction, including library research, documentation, and oral/visual communication skills.

Prof. Mahan has taught core courses like WRC 1013 and WRC 1023 at UTSA, covering writing process principles, organizational patterns, analysis, and synthesis of sources. She has also collaborated with UTSA's Pathways to Health Professions program.

Personal highlights include her dry sense of humor, travel experiences in Romania, China, and Hawaii, and anecdotes about her children and cats. Her courses are offered on UTSA's Main Campus and online, with consistent enrollment in sections of 25 students.
