Amanda Williams

Amanda Williams is an Assistant Professor of Practice in the Writing Core Program at the University College of the University of Texas at San Antonio. She holds a B.A. in English from UTSA (2002) and an M.A. in Linguistics from the University of North Texas (2004). Her thesis focused on Southern American speech patterns, specifically 'Present Tense Marking as a Synopsis of Southern American Speech.'

She has taught writing and grammar courses at UTSA since 2004, instructing courses like Freshman Composition and Structures of English. Amanda collaborates with the Tomas Rivera Center on grant-funded initiatives to enhance graduate writing support. Her professional interests span academic writing pedagogy and language variation.

In addition to her academic role, she contributes to music ministries and youth programs at her church, engages in culinary arts as a foodie, and enjoys literature, music, and films. Courses she currently teaches include WRC 1013/1023 (writing fundamentals) and ENG courses on English syntax.
