Pamela Hill Nettleton

Pamela Hill Nettleton is an Adjunct Professor in Communication Studies and Emerging Media at the University of St. Thomas, holding a Ph.D. in Communication Studies from the University of Minnesota. Her research critically examines representations of gender, masculinity, and domestic violence in media, with additional expertise in arts writing and journalism. Nettleton has extensive professional experience as an editor and writer for publications including Minnesota Monthly, MEL Magazine, and US Catholic.

Her research interests focus on feminist media criticism, masculinity studies in television, domestic violence representation, media ethics, critical analysis of popular culture, and arts journalism. Nettleton investigates how media constructs and reinforces gender norms and power dynamics.

Nettleton has received several academic honors including dissertation awards and research grants. Her community engagement includes serving on nonprofit boards and contributing to public discourse on media representation through newspaper commentaries and magazine articles.
