Pamela Barmash is a Professor of Hebrew Bible and Biblical Hebrew at Washington University in St. Louis, with a courtesy appointment in Religious Studies. She holds a PhD from Harvard University and Rabbinic Ordination from the Jewish Theological Seminary. Her research focuses on biblical law, ancient Near Eastern legal systems, and the intersection of history, memory, and religion. She directs the undergraduate program in Jewish, Islamic, and Middle Eastern Studies and advises study abroad programs in this field.
