Pamela Allison serves as a Professional Associate at the Biotechnology Innovation Centre, Rhodes University since 2012, while simultaneously working as a Technical Consultant at Scientific and Technical Consulting Services (Sci-Tech Consulting) since 2006.
Her educational qualifications include:
- MDP from UNISA (1990)
- Hide, Skin and Leather Technology from Leather Industries Research Institute, Rhodes University (1979)
- BSc. Hons. (cum laude) in Biological Sciences from University of Natal (1979)
- BSc. in Biological Sciences from University of Natal (1975-1978)
Ms. Allison's research interests center on biotechnology applications with specific focus on parasitology and stem cell research. She is affiliated with the BioSENS Research Group which investigates Malaria and Trypanosomal parasites alongside Stem Cell Biotechnology initiatives.
Her professional career spans technical leadership roles including Technical Manager and Chief Chemist positions at Buckman Laboratories (Pty) Ltd from 1987-2006, and earlier work as an Enzymology Research Assistant at South African Breweries.
